I’ve had a gut feeling for a few years now that I will eventually find my way to the kingdom of ice, but didn’t realize that I’d be lucky enough to do it (just) before turning 30. It’s been such a hectic time in the last few weeks / months that it all still feels a bit surreal to be honest. I’m sure it will start sinking in once I’m in the plane for South America (and then the next plane, and the bus, and the two ships, and the boat… not easy getting there, let me tell you) and that it will be one heck of an adventure! I’ve even started thinking what the next big goal is 😉
I don’t have time unfortunately to do a full packing list, but in case you’re interested it’s not unlike the one I made for Nepal — just a few more waterproof layers.
I’ll see you in 2016 with what will hopefully be exciting photos and stories to share. Do keep your fingers crossed for the weather to be on our side, that Drake passage boat ride ahead of us sure looks exciting 🙂
Beauty is everywhere your senses and spirit are! Have your next extreme big goal! Keep tracing and facing …
Enjoy! We’ve been watching documentary after documentary about this continent. I’ll be glad to visit it vicariously rather than suiting up for the environment. I’m a warm-weather gal! Cheers…and Happy New Year. 😀
Simply a fascinating shot. A beautiful way to bring in the New Year ~ a great post and best to you with your writing and photography in the New Year. Cheers to a great 2016.
Magnificent. Hope you are enjoying Antarctica! 🙂
